How to Get an Amateur Boxing Fight in Tampa Bay (2026 Guide)

Want your first amateur boxing bout in the Tampa Bay area? Here's exactly how matchmaking works, what you need, and how to get on the Aftershock Fights card at Battle Zone Boxing.

Getting a real, sanctioned amateur bout is harder than it should be: most fighters wait on a coach who knows a promoter who might have a slot. Aftershock Fights flips that — you register yourself, and the matchmakers come to you.

Step 1 — Register (two minutes)

Go to aftershockfights.com/fight. You'll enter your name, date of birth, weight class, record (debut is fine), email and phone, plus your gym. USA Boxing and FABC member IDs are optional at registration. You'll get an email to confirm your address — click it, and you're on the roster.

Step 2 — How matchmaking works

Our matchmakers build every card from the roster, pairing fighters by weight class, experience and record so the bouts are fair and sanctionable. A debut fighter gets matched with another debut fighter — not thrown in with someone on their tenth bout. When there's a fit for you, we reach out directly by email or phone.

Step 3 — What a sanctioned bout requires

Aftershock Fights cards are sanctioned by the Florida Amateur Boxing Confederation, which means licensed officials and medical supervision at ringside. Sanctioned bouts require the appropriate amateur registration; once you're matched we walk you through exactly what's needed before fight night. Weigh-ins for Aftershock Fights I are 8:00 AM on fight day at the venue.

Weight classes we match by

  • 106 lb · 112 lb · 119 lb · 125 lb · 132 lb · 140 lb · 147 lb · 156 lb · 165 lb · 176 lb · 189 lb · 203 lb · 203+ lb (USA Boxing amateur classes)
  • Not sure where you fall? Pick the class you'd actually make on the scale the morning of a fight, not your walk-around weight.

Coaches and gyms

If you're a coach with several fighters, use the team registration page instead — one form, every fighter, all landing on the roster under your gym.
